FPL 2026/27 Price Reveals: Best Values and Traps

Price reveal day should create a shortlist, not lock a final team. This page separates real value from players who only look cheap before fixtures and minutes are checked.

Identify captain options first. The rest of the squad should serve that structure.

Value line

The useful price bands are usually cheap defenders, mid-price midfielders, and forwards mispriced near their floor.

Trap check

Cheap without minutes is not value. Expensive without captaincy is a harder sell.

Price Reveal Decision Rules

Band	Typical range	Buy rule
Premium captain	10.0m+	Needs captaincy, penalties, or overwhelming fixtures. Expensive without captaincy should not lead a first draft.
Premium defender	6.0m+	Needs set pieces, bonus route, clean-sheet floor, or attacking role. Fixtures decide whether the spend is immediate.
Mid-price midfielder	6.5-8.5m	The value band only works when minutes are nailed and the first six fixtures do not force an early transfer.
Budget defender	4.0-4.5m	Minutes first, fixture rotation second. Cheap defenders are value only if they actually start.
Bench enabler	4.0-5.0m	Use as structure support, not optimism. A bench player needs starts or a clear planned upgrade path.
